Für alle die sich noch nicht sicher sind ob Uthgard ja ? nein ?. Das neue RvR System macht denk ich Laune sofern es hinhaut.
ZitatDear players.
As we make our way closer to the BETA testing we would like to take this time to inform you of some of the many changes to the frontiers. Our vision for Uthgard is to provide the most authentic Dark Age of Camelot experience possible within our chosen patch level. We hope by detailing this information we can make you aware of the many possibilities that are available to you all. And to encourage players of all styles to discover the importance of fighting in the frontiers and the importance of fighting for your realm! The frontiers are a vast realm of their own, they allow space for players of all styles and we want this to be encouraged moving forward. We are a community of different styles and tastes and thus we accept people’s different ways of playing the game. However, within these vast landscapes special bonuses can be found…
The importance of keeps
The reward for taking keeps (outside of relics) were quite minimal on Uthgard 1.0. However, due to our target patch level and the time we've been able to invest in our RvR system we have been able to bring back the bonuses/motivational factors that added great importance to keep warfare back in 1.65 (many of which players at the time may not have been aware of)! We hope these bonuses will motivate players of all play styles to fight for their realm, defend your keeps and fight for new ones, for it will offer great rewards. Many keeps also contain merchants and offer the ability for players to craft although crafting is limited to the lathe and the forge.
Bonuses for possession of keeps:
There are bonuses to PvP in conjunction with the possession of keeps. These bonuses only affect PvP specifically in relation to damage dealt, realm points and bounty points. The bonuses are outlined as follows:
+ 1% for the keeps conquered by your realm in an enemy realm.
+ 2% x Difficulty (1 to 5) if your guild owns a keep.
+ 3% x Difficulty (1 to 5) if you are defending (IE: in the proximity of the keep) a keep that your alliance guild is possessing.
To elaborate further, if your realm has won five outposts in other realms, you will always receive a bonus of 5% (RP, BP and DMG) no matter where you are. Plus, if you are in a guild that possesses a keep of difficulty level 3, you will get an additional 6% (for a total of 11%) bonuses, wherever you are. Also, if you’re fighting in the region of your keep you will get an additional 9% (for a total of 20%) RP, BP and DMG bonuses. This picture will display to you the difficulty levels represented:
Hibernia Keeps: Dun Scathaig: Hibernia=1, Albion=5, Midgard=5 Dun Ailinne: Hibernia=1, Albion=5, Midgard=5 Dun Da Behnn: Hibernia=1, Albion=4, Midgard=4 Dun na nGed: Hibernia=1, Albion=4, Midgard=4 Dun Bolg: Hibernia=1, Albion=3, Midgard=3 Dun Crimthainn: Hibernia=1, Albion=3, Midgard=3 Dun Crauchon: Hibernia=2, Albion=2, Midgard=2
As well as bonuses for PvP you will gain additional bonuses for PvE when levelling by your guilds claimed keep. The experience bonus gained by fighting near your guilds keep matches that of dungeons, which means you get an increased amount of camp bonus as well as a direct xp bonus.
Please remember that the amount of keeps owned will determine who controls Darkness Falls. A valuable asset to any realm who has access!
We hope these changes will make you all very excited to fight for glory in your respective realms, whether through solo play, group, 8v8 or zerg!
We will be releasing new information to you all soon, we don’t want to give too much away and would like our players to discover and explore the game. Look out for future notes on the relic/keep system we can’t wait to see you all competing for these precious keep and relic bonuses.
Until then, keep checking for updates and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
Your Uthgard Staff.

Also ca. 2 Monate Open Beta.
As you are aware we have moved over the estimate we gave you some months ago. We want to address this and give you an update on what we are working on. However before doing so we want to acknowledge that we did not meet our estimate and explain why. Unfortunately since we gave the estimate major housing issues were brought to our attention. The rewriting of the housing code has proven to be a bigger task than first anticipated which further extended the work we feel needs to be done before closing down the server and preparing for a release.
Now, onto what we have been working on:
Housing As mentioned before we are working on rewriting the entire housing code, this includes reworking how inventories work which hopefully explains to you how big of a task this is. This is also why we can't simply relaunch now and open housing later on. Doing so would risk new duping bugs to appear after a relaunch which would be a big blow to the economy.
It should be taken into account that whilst this sounds like a lot of work is left to be done - we can happily announce that the developers can see the light at the end of what had proven to be the long housing tunnel.
Dragons and epics Dragons have been sleeping for a while, this is because our main world builder when it comes to major encounters is busy with something else. And this task is epics, which we are close to finish for all classes. We are missing three quest lines (The academy line, Focus line, Rouge line (mid)), which is the priority at the moment. Unfortunately the main world builder has been busy irl and this has been slowed down for a while. Hopefully this will change soon and epics and dragons will be done sooner rather than later. The reason why we want this done before a relaunch, is because these are content that a majority of players will want to participate in when we relaunch. Not having this content tested and implemented at relaunch would be a blow to the player experience we don't want to take.
Salvage and the economy Some players have noticed that some items salvage for too little, this have an impact on the economy in the game, and we are currently working on updating a majority of our items with correct salvage values. We are currently looking at updating about 8000 items with correct salvage values and sell values. Obviously this will change a lot in the economy and because we want to make sure this is not introducing a lot of money leaks, we want to do this before a relaunch so you have a chance to test it out.
Importing item drops We are currently working on importing loot tables from the prima guides. While the prima guide is not perfect, it does show us some holes in our current loot tables and therefore we are spending time working out a way to import loot tables from the guides. This should hopefully fix the problem of lower level mobs having no loot dropping. While this shouldn't change much for higher levels and therefore have less of an impact on the economy. Never the less we want to do this before we relaunch so that hopefully new players will have a pleasant experience leveling up on a new server.
Minor issues Specific developers and world builders have been assigned to these projects. This works best for work flow and quality of production, too many hands in one project can cause cross-issues. This also means that if you see minor issues being fixed it does not equate to these issues not being worked on. But this also means that if the main project developer/world builder is absent for some time, the project will move slower or halt to a stop for a while, but you should be aware that we try to keep these down times to a minimum.
Players should take note that whilst these projects are major; they are an essential part to your playing experience. We are doing our up most to get this work done as soon as possible and relaunch the server for you. At this time we do not project (though cannot guarantee) any other stoppers. Uthgard will be ready for yours and our enjoyment soon.
Housing Test Written by Alcyon on 11.11.2016 Dear players!
We are delighted to inform you that we are giving out house deeds, titles, chests and the consignment merchant for free now. Visit the merchants located at the housing zone central markets to receive those items. This is to test our significantly changed and we hope improved housing zone. This change was very significant for the relaunch as there were many holes in our housing system! Please help as much as possible so we can get swiftly fix any holes you may find.
The new housing vaults will perfectly synchronise with the player inventories to prevent any item loss or dupes in case of a server crash. This is an incredibly valuable and import fix for us in order to further prevent players feeling cheated.
Newly created characters will start with 2p now to support and speed up further testing! This will allow players an ample amount of money in order to test as much as possible.
Here are some guidelines for what should be your primary focus for testing:
1.Buy a house lot (if you don't already own one)
2.Build a house and buy indoor and outdoor stuff (also place & remove them multiple times)
3.Change house permissions
4.Store items in the house vaults (place & remove multiple times, if possible use multiple players at the same time)
5.Store items in the personal vault (place & remove multiple times)
6.Buy, move, switch & sell items inside and from a character inventory
7.Buy dyes & any armour. Dye and equip the amour.
8.Trade items form the character inventory with other players
9.Equip & Unequip items from the character inventory
10.Stack, Unstack, Restack items like arrows in the character inventory, personal vault and house vaults
11. Poisoning weapons, switching active weapons, switching arrows from player to vault to consignment etc.
12. Test the repossession of a house and pickup of stuff from the banker/vault npcs. This means the house has to have 0 rent left.
13.Add items to your consignment merchant for other players to buy (reasonable/testable prices please!)
14.Search for items using the housing market explorer
15.Buy items from the market explorer and/or consignment merchant
16.Pay rent
17. Try to visit other players houses, enter and try to change stuff (chests?)
18.Use the starting gold to do some crafting (item creation in a characters inventory)
19. Also anything else that you may think we have not thought of! Surprise us! Please post any positive or negative test result in https://uthgard.org/tracker/issue/2440/
We hope your testing will prove successful, we cannot emphasise enough the importance of this fix for the quality of the server. This is one of the major stumbling blocks that has blocked the relaunch. We hope to get back to you with some very good news very soon.
The hills have been quiet for ages. Abandoned and unkempt, yet peaceful. Many assumed the King was dead or a myth. While the civilians of Hibernia were asleep, they were awakened in the dead of night by a familiar tone. The roar of the Glimmer King. Cuuldurach has returned.
After years of gathering information, countless hours of implementation, we have managed to piece together our first Dragon. He is ready and available to test. However we encourage players to join during a scheduled test under staff member supervision so we can make appropriate adjustments and fixes if necessary.
We need a few samples of player raids to get an accurate feel for a live server Uthgard raid. This will be a thorough test and thus need players that are able to dedicate a reasonable amount of time [two to three hours] to allow adequate testing.
We can safely say to you that this is one of the final major issues blocking the relaunch and thus would love your help on completing this chapter of the BETA. We will be providing players with adequate equipment to make this test as suitable and seamless as possible. Players participating in the raid should create their chosen character in advance with the name used in the sign up below. This will allow us to provide you with the needed equipment to participate in the raid. Players should still equip themselves with the free items provided from the city merchants - we will handle the rest.
Gnome and Genjiro will meet those signed up for the raid on Monday 28th of November (today) at 20:00 CET . They will be with you to teleport you should you die and also provide you with the items needed.
We realise how last minute this is thus if we unable to get enough names at such short notice we will do our best to re-schedule. We would like to run a second date on Friday the 2nd of December at 20:00 CET. If you would like to sign up to the Friday test please follow the procedure above but specify:
We have attached our sign up sheet below, the dragon raid will have to take place at this specific time and day in order to allow our staff members to be present to assist you. Should you wish to join the raid please reply to this forum thread using the example below:
Hehehe Once again Albions Ehrengarde into the Breach my Friends Urlaub schon verbraucht Cya !
Dear players, We would like to take you back to January 25th 2014 where we stated: 'We've come down a very long road together'. It is fair to say that given the amount of time Uthgard has been down since the January of that year that we can echo those words once again. The road has been long, hard and at times draining. However, we are pleased to announce that on Friday January the 6th at 20:00 UTC+1 Uthgard will officially return and Dark Age of Camelot will once again return to our lives in its glory.
20:00 UTC+1 converts to the following time zones for you all:
CET: 20:00 (Berlin) HKT: 03:00 (Hong Kong) EST: 14:00 (New York) PST: 11:00 (Los Angeles)
Once the new timer on the webpage has hit 00:00:00 Uthgard will open its doors officially once again for you our loyal player base, our DAOC veterans and soon to be new friends.
The server is now in a good enough shape to relaunch; the last few months of the open BETA proved extremely useful to improving the quality of our server and we would like to thank you all once again for your efforts. Some crucial and alarming discoveries were made, the most significant being an issue with our housing zones, as we strived to fix this we fell further into what proved to be a housing rabbit hole. We took the decision to completely overhaul the housing zone and this has taken a lot of man hours to do effectively. Along with housing there were other significant bugs and issues, but now we are in a good enough place to relaunch for you all and allow you all an equal opportunity to start afresh fairly.
We would like to make a side note to our American and non European comrades. We consider Uthgard to be now more than ever a truly international server. We realise the time may not be considered to be 'friendly' towards our American player base, this was not so much out of choice but staff scheduling. We value your presence and look forward to the influx of American and international players once our European friends return to their beds for rest! We have recruited some fine Game Masters who will be on hand to help our American and further afield player base so support will be there for you at all times of day.
We want Uthgard to be considered a home for players seeking a true Dark Age of Camelot classic experience and will be on hand to support our players through frequent updates and communication via the forum or Facebook page. Our passion and drive is what sets our server apart from all the others but also you our loyal players. Let us together make Uthgard the only place to seek the authentic Dark Age of Camelot experience. We will continue to strive for an improved communication with our players in regards to updates of the server. Changes have already been made via our Facebook page - be sure to follow us there!
Now is the time for you to talk amongst yourselves, friends and guild members about your chosen realms and starting classes! Players are reminded that once the server is live the instant 50, armour merchants and respec merchants will all disappear from your capital cities and the realm switch timer will revert back to seven days. The server will remain in its BETA stage until we come ever closer to the relaunch date; this is to allow you to keep helping the server as we prepare for the relaunch. Do not forget tonight dragon test where we hope to see some of you again!
We are extremely excited to see many of you competing in our frontiers and hope through our improved keep system that there will be a place for you all whether it is solo, group, 8v8 or zerg! We have mentioned previously that the rush for Darkness Falls will be one of the highlights of the relaunch and we very much look forward to new memories being born on our server!
There have been many times for us all where we wished we were a part of this great game from the beginning once again, we invite you all to join us in that opportunity of a clean slate for you. Help your realms in any way you can, work together and most importantly of all have fun! Sometimes we can forget in moments of tension and hostility that ultimately we want to play this game because it is unique fun and the best PvP experience out there!
We cannot wait to see you all in the homelands and frontiers soon!
